Detectives are investigating after a man was attacked and kidnapped at a Bradford business tonight.
Police were called to the junction of Whetley Lane and Whetley Hill, Girlington, to reports that the man had been seriously assaulted at about 8.30pm.
The victim, who is believed to work in a jewellery shop, is understood to have been taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary following the attack.
Police cordoned off a path running behind a row of businesses in Whetley Lane and detectives were searching the path and carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area.
Police community support officers were guarding the cordon late into the night.
A spokesman for Bradford South CID said detectives were investigating a report of “serious” assault and kidnap. He said the investigation was at a very early stage and that police had yet to interview the victim last night.
Anyone with information about the incident should call Bradford South CID on 08456 6060606.
