A three-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier was found tied to a fence, along with her six puppies in a bag, outside a Bradford veterinary surgery.
Veterinary nurse Shaun Fisher, who works at the Gatehouse Veterinary Group, Allerton, discovered the abandoned dogs early yesterday morning.
Simon Thomas, senior partner, is now trying to trace either the owners or someone who could care for them. The dog, called Kymbo, had been chipped two years ago but the last person on the register no longer owned her.
Mr Thomas said: “We will be looking for new homes for them, unless they are claimed. If someone claims the dogs, that would be the ideal solution – perhaps there’s a genuine story for how it got to be there.”
