Police are hunting a hit and run driver after a woman was seriously injured as she crossed a busy road in Bradford.
The 43-year-old was crossing Killinghall Road with her two adult daughters when she was hit by a red or maroon Ford Focus at 5.10pm yesterday.
The injured woman had left her car parked opposite the Pakistani Bazaar store and was crossing the road, heading towards the shop, when the incident happened.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “As she was crossing the road a car travelling along Killinghall Road from the direction of Leeds Old Road junction collided with her.
“She was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary with serious facial injuries including losing some teeth.
“She is in a stable condition.”
The two daughters were not struck by the vehicle but they fell to the ground suffering minor injuries.
The spokesman said: “The driver of the car did not stop at the scene and carried on up Killinghall Road before turning right into Second Avenue.”
Witnesses or anyone with any information about the incident should contact PC Mick Garner, of the Western Area Roads Policing Unit, on 0845 6060606.
