The opening hours of the country’s first walk-in health centre will be cut following a public consultation in which the majority of people agreed with the proposal.

The board of NHS Bradford and Airedale yesterday approved the reduction in access to Hillside Bridge, in Butler Street, Barkerend, for non-registered, walk-in patients from its current opening hours of 8am to 8pm to 2pm to 8pm.

The change comes in to force on December 1 and its impact will be closely monitored for six months after this as concerns have been raised it will lead to an increase in inappropriate attendances at A&E for minor aliments.
