A mum-of-one, said to be the “driving force” of the Friends of Harold Park group, has been nominated for a Telegraph & Argus Community Stars Active Citizens award.
Angela Tait, chairman of the group which looks after the Low Moor park, also finds time to devote to her position of parent governor of a primary school, while working full-time at chemicals giant BASF and being a “wonderful mum” to her 11-year-old daughter, her husband Mark Tait said.
The friends group last month celebrated the results of a project led by Mrs Tait, which transformed a run-down tennis court into a sensory garden for disabled people.
Nominating her for the award, Mr Tait said: “As chairman of the Friends of Harold Park, she is the driving force and motivation that makes this group such a success.
“She never stops and is always coming up with new ideas. She always seems to have the magic ability to make these ideas happen.”
Mrs Tait, 39, of Low Moor, said: “It motivates me knowing we are helping people.”
The awards, run jointly by the T&A and Bradford Council, aim to recognise the hard work of volunteers across the district.
The winners will be invited to a ceremony in City Hall where they will be presented with a Bradford Medal. To nominate someone, submit the form in today's T&A by Monday, September 5.
