A summit on multiculturalism will be held in Bradford tomorrow.
Representatives from community and faith organisations in the city will discuss the impact of multiculturalism and religion on community relations in the district.
Panel members include the Reverend Canon Dr Arun John, team vicar of St Paul’s Church in Manningham and chairman of the Bradford District Faiths Forum, and Naweed Hussain, former secretary of the Hanfia Masjid Association, who has been involved in several projects in the district.
Dr Mohammed Salam, chief executive of the Consortia of Ethnic Minority Organisations, which is hosting the event, said: “Key focus of the discussion will be whether faith and multiculturalism are a hindrance to community cohesion or not in Bradford.”
And he said the seminar would “engage with the diverse faith and community groups to see how we can enhance community cohesion in Bradford and how do these issues fit in with the Big Society/active citizen agenda?”
