Hundreds of suspected counterfeit DVDs and computer games were seized during a raid at a Bradford shop.
Police and West Yorkshire Trading Standards officers swooped on S and M Grocers in Gaythorne Road, West Bowling, on Saturday.
PC Aaron Horsfall, of Bradford South Police, who led the operation, said officers found 200 suspected counterfeit DVDs as well as some computer games in the premises.
He said the raid was carried out after police had received information from the public. “This is an intelligence-led operation and we have managed to get a positive result,” he said.
“It just shows that intelligence from local residents makes a difference because if we get the right information we act on it and we get good results, which is pleasing because that’s what we do the job for.’’ PC Horsfall said officers also searched two vehicles, where suspected counterfeit cigarettes were found, as well as more DVDs and computer equipment discovered while searching two houses.
Officers searched the shop and a first floor flat as residents gathered on the street to watch outside.
Two men, aged 23, and 33, were arrested in connection with the incident.
