Two stars of the indie scene have been added to the bill of this year’s Bingley Music Live – the festival which is fast becoming a red-letter event for northern music fans.

Jon Fratelli, who fronted Scottish rockers The Fratellis, and indie-popsters Mystery Jets will join the line-up of the festival on the weekend of September 2 to 4.

Singer-songwriter Jon Fratelli is starting his solo career while the band go on indefinite sabbatical.

He will plunder his former band’s musical catalogue while also playing material from his debut solo album Psycho Jukebox, which combines strong melodies with pop-psychedelia and classic 60s-tinged pop.

Mystery Jets, who hail from Twickenham in London, have built up a solid following since their debut album was released in 2006.

They have released a total of four albums of harmony-laden pop which has seen them score a number of hits including You Can’t Fool Me Dennis and Two Doors Down.

Acts already confirmed include electronic production duo Chase and Status, kooky pop newcomer Eliza Doolittle and North East alternative rockers Maximo Park.

The Fun Lovin’ Criminals will headline on the free Friday night.

Weekend tickets are £35 plus a booking fee and are available at bin gleymusiclive.com/tickets.php.
