A mischievous musical featuring ‘puppet sex’ and puppet nudity is coming to Bradford.

Avenue Q, one of the biggest theatrical hits in the West End and Broadway in recent years, is a musical like no other, described as witty, rude, uproariously entertaining and politically incorrect.

An assortment of off-the-wall characters, played by a cast of actors and puppets, tackle subjects such as dating, racism, homosexuality and finding your purpose in life.

Although at first glance it looks like a children’s show, Avenue Q is not suitable for youngsters under 12.

Set on a downtown New York street, it follows a group of young adults trying to make sense of life’s burning issues, such as love, work and relationships.

Avenue Q is written by Americans Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, who originally intended it as a TV series. It went on to be a Broadway hit, winning three Tony Awards.

Avenue Q runs at the Alhambra from June 6 to 11. Tickets are available on (01274) 432000.
