People are being urged to support efforts to protect the Bradford district’s woodland.
The Woodland Trust said that despite a Government climbdown earlier this year over plans to sell-off public forests, the fight was not over.
The Independent Panel on Forestry is seeking people’s views on the issue.
Sue Holden, chief executive of the Woodland Trust and a panel member, said: “We urge people to take this opportunity to put their comments to the panel at woodlandtrust.org. uk/panel.
“Members of the public were instrumental in bringing about the initial climbdown and it is now their chance to tell the panel why they value their woods and trees.
“England’s forests are not yet safe.
“The Welsh Assembly and Scottish Government have both made far-reaching commitments to woods and trees and it is time for England to show similar ambition.
“The UK remains one of the least wooded areas in Europe, making it all the more urgent to protect what we already have.”
