Playtime has suddenly got a lot more exciting at a Guiseley playgroup thanks to a council grant of thousands of pounds.
Youngsters at the Oxford Road Playgroup are now enjoying musical chimes, a set of drums, a playhouse, a water cascade tray and a storyteller’s chair.
The outdoor play equipment has been provided with a £7,500 early-years grant from Leeds City Council.
Playgroup owner Susan Barber said: “It just means that the children now, with the storyteller’s chair in particular, are enjoying circle time in the outdoors, and it is encouraging a love of books.”
The playgroup is now in new premises attached to the new children’s centre.
