Police are urging residents to make sure their homes are secure after five burglaries over the weekend.
And, in two instances, the raiders gained entry by dragging keys through the cat flap.
One was in Grange Road, Kildwick, which was entered between 11pm on Friday and 6.30am on Saturday while the occupants were asleep.
The raiders got away with various items of jewellery, Police are linking the break-in with another at a house further along Grange Road, in Farnhill, on the same night. Again the occupants were at home.
Officers believe the offenders got in through a side door that had been left unlocked and stole a handbag and wallet. Also, between 11am and 7pm on Saturday, burglars forced the cellar doors of a house on Hartley Place, Cowling.
The other two burglaries occurred in the Aireside area of Cononley on Sunday.
