An farm is seeking permission to build a milking parlour and cattle housing building.
The proposals relate to Lyon House Farm, in Lyon Road, Eastburn. The farm has a herd of 330 dairy cows, which are milked twice a day.
Planning officers have recommended that the farm’s application be approved.
The plans have met with one letter of support and eight letters of objection.
Residents opposing the application say the parlour should not be built so close to houses and that it would generate more noise and traffic congestion.
They argue that the expansion would also lead to larger numbers of animals blocking Lyon Road several times a day.
But the planning officers’ summary concludes that the development would ensure the farm remains a viable enterprise and would improve animal welfare.
