A nature haven has become an outdoor classroom for pupils at Belle Vue Girls’ School.
The site has been created in land owned by Hallmark Cards near the school in Heaton, Bradford.
It is a registered place of scientific interest and contains rare natural flora and fauna. The school’s head of science Vlad Waley said: “At Belle Vue Girls’ School we believe that children and adults need to be able to explore the natural world around them to make connections with that world.
“This process of exploration enables them to learn to respect living things of all types and gain experience with solving problems using science as well as art, geography and sport to name but few subjects.”
