l There’s a world premiere in Calverley next week. The Calverley Players present When In Rome, a new comedy by Colin Trenholme, a play about five very different groups of people who all travel to Rome at the same time, and all with ‘baggage’.
Margaret and Bob are older and contented, Gary and Yvonne are younger and not so happy, Marta is with her two daughters and doesn’t really want to be there, Kat has been left with her two children by her husband – then there’s the young tennis team and their coach, not forgetting Dave ‘n’ Chas, Marco and Polo, Julius and Augustus and Ronnie and Reggie (all played by the same two actors).
A cast of 23 performs the play, which is the Players’ 200th production. They even get to eat real pizza on stage.
When In Rome runs at the Mechanics Institute in Calverley from Wednesday to Saturday. Ring (0113) 2567708 or 07887801954 for tickets.
