Memories of May Day dances were brought to life when staff at a Cross Hills care home organised for a maypole in the grounds.
Residents at Anchor’s Townend Close were also treated to a display of maypole dancing by staff.
Manager Sharon Mackie said: “Residents said they had fond memories of the maypole dance when they were younger so we thought it would be nice if we could hold a maypole dance for them.
“We also invited the schoolchildren from Glusburn Primary to come and join in.”
Activities co-ordinator Sylvia Hill was given the task of locating a maypole and asked South Craven School arts and crafts department to make one. “They were very helpful and within a couple of weeks delivered a maypole,” said Sharon.
