Detectives are treating today’s discovery of a third body in Tong, Bradford, as murder.
But they said there was nothing to suggest links to the murders of two men whose badly beaten bodies were found in a nearby country lane on Tuesday night.
The latest corpse was found in the area of Pit Hill Park, which overlooks the Holme Wood estate, by firefighters who were called to reports of a fire in the open at the location about 6.40am.
It is only a short distance from where the two bodies were found in New Lane. It is not yet known whether the body is male or female.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Paul Taylor said he was “liaising closely” with Detective Superintendent Dick Nuttall, who was leading the New Lane investigation, but there was “nothing to suggest” the murders are linked despite their proximity.
Anyone with information about either investigations should contact West Yorkshire Police on (01924) 334675.
