Water sports centre Doe Park in Denholme has opened to the public for a season of sailing, canoeing and adventure courses.
Pay-and-play, boat hire and coaching courses are available on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings throughout the summer, as well as skills and activity courses in school holidays.
Councillor the Reverend Paul Flowers, Bradford Council’s portfolio holder with responsibility for sport, said: “The new season at Doe Park Water and Activities Centre is a huge boost for the district and gives people of all ages and abilities an even wider range of opportunities to take part in physical activity and sport.
“We have a packed programme of events planned for the school holidays from kayaking, sailing and windsurfing to raft-building and canoeing. These are challenging, fun activities and offer an exciting alternative to some of the mainstream sports available.”
More than 14 million people have visited Council sports centres and pools since the start of the authority’s Bactive campaign in 2003, which encourages people to be more active.
