A new police contact point has been set up in Oakenshaw, Bradford, for residents to report anti-social and suspicious behaviour.
The contact point in Victoria Park, to be staffed by members of Oakenshaw Residents’ Association and police volunteers, will also offer crime prevention advice.
Bradford Council’s neighbourhood wardens and police community support officers will visit the centre from time to time.
The contact point has been opened during Active Citizens 2011, a year-long campaign celebrating the efforts of people who give up their time to improve things in the district.
David Rhodes, chairman of Oakenshaw Residents’ Association, said: “Our members are delighted to be opening our contact point. We are very active in our local area and our work shows what can be done when local people get together to improve their local communities.”
