Guiseley singer-songwriter Andy Doonan has won a regional final of the national Live and Unsigned competition.
Andy (pictured) beat 21 other acts at the north west heats, presided over by a judging panel that included Bez from Happy Mondays, to go through to the national final at London’s O2 Arena in July.
Andy, 22, a former pupil of St Mary’s School in Menston, will appear at the event with acts such as NDubz, The Hoosiers and Guillemots. Andy’s musical style is described as a mix of acoustic pop, indie and folk and his debut album, Lights and Mirrors, recorded with Pigeon Detectives producer Andy Hawkins, will be launched on June 12.
He is performing at The Station Hotel, Guiseley, on Friday.
