A huge blaze swept through a Keighley store bringing the town to a standstill last night.
Dozens of firefighters tackled the inferno at Poundstretcher, in the Cavendish Retail Park.
A plume of smoke drifted over Keighley at 7pm and crowds gathered in Cavendish Street and East Parade. Police closed both the streets to traffic, along with part of Worth Way.
Carla Richardson, 32, one of the bystanders on Cavendish Street, said: “I was coming home from work and got completely stuck in a traffic jam. I wasn’t going anywhere.
“I left my car to come and have a look and saw flames coming out of the roof.
“I really hope there was no one in there. The inside must be gutted.”
A spokesman for Airedale and North Bradford Police said today: “A 16-year-old Keighley youth has been arrested in connection with the incident and bailed pending further inquiries."
