His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent is to visit Bradford Grammar School this week to tour new science classrooms and laboratories.
The Queen’s cousin will arrive by helicopter on Thursday before being greeted by 120 first year pupils, who will line the way to school.
His visit will take in the new Stephen Davidson Learning Link, which joins the main school building with the Alan Jerome Building and the refurbished Kenneth Robinson Building.
During the tour he will also meet pupils who have represented the country at sport, including members of the school’s rowing, cricket and tennis teams.
The Duke (pictured) will have lunch in the learning link, built as part of a £4.5m project to transform the schools science facilities.
Former pupil Roger Evans, who donated $1m towards the glass corridor, is to return to the school from California to meet the Duke.
Mr Evans, who grew up in Menston, last month unveiled a plaque commemorating the new facility at its official opening.
