Health trust heads are awaiting national guidance on the management of NHS estates before any further progress can be made on Ilkley’s long-awaited Coronation Community Hospital.
Coronation Hospital owner NHS Bradford and Airedale says the rebuilding of the Springs Lane hospital is still on its list of developments for consideration.
But national changes to the health service could affect the promised rebuild.
A spokesman for NHS Bradford and Airedale said: “We are awaiting national guidance on the management of NHS estates which will inform the future priorities and timetable for the development of schemes such as this one.”
Ilkley campaigners, backed by a petition signed by more than 11,000 people, have continued to push for around nine years to keep cottage hospital services in the town.
