Thomas the Tank Engine was a Really Useful Engine. But sometimes he could be a bit loud.
And his enthusiastic toots and whistles derailed the sleep of one resident on his route.
The woman lives near the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, which operates a Thomas weekend on Bank Holidays.
Carol Oliver, of Wood View, Embsay, has to work nightshifts, but the noise from the event meant she struggled to get the rest she needed.
“I required sleep during the day – not that I got any,” she said. “As bank holiday weekends at the station are Thomas the Tank Engine weekends, what that means for the villagers is constant steam whistling between the hours of 9am and 6pm."
