Two stalwarts of the Shipley Stride organising committee will hang up their walking boots after Sunday’s charity walk.
Jim Thornber, 80, and his wife Margaret, have been involved with the event, which raises funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, since it began in 2003.
Mr Thornber was co-founder of the Millennium Way, a set of walks around Bradford, one of which later became the route of the Stride.
He said: “After this year I’m stepping down. I’m 80 so I think I’ve done my share. I’ll be walking on Sunday and I’m looking forward to it, but I think it’s time for me to give up now.”
