Security is being bolstered at the landmark Saltaire United Reformed Church in a bid to ward off metal thieves.
The final resting place of industrialist Sir Titus Salt is one of several buildings in the district that have been targeted by criminals cashing in on the rising cost of precious scrap metals.
Earlier this year, thousands of pounds-worth of metal was stolen from the roof of the Grade I-listed church in Victoria Road.
The church’s trustees have now submitted a planning application to Bradford Council for the provision of additional lighting in the churchyard and to the church’s main entrance for night-time security and safety.
