A former para and his ASBO officer wife are getting on their bikes to help wounded troops.
Paul and Helen Smith, both 46, from Stapper Green, Wilsden, are taking part in this year’s Big Battlefield Bike Ride for Help The Heroes.
Despite a dislocated knee, Mrs Smith is determined to join her policeman husband and 300 other riders from across the country when they land with their bikes in Normandy early on D Day, Monday, June 6.
They decided to get involved in the charity for wounded service people after being moved by what they read and saw from Afghanistan.
