Staff will celebrate a Bradford firm’s tenth anniversary by tackling a range of charity challenges. A weekend of abseiling, marathon runs, open-water swimming, long distance cycling and creating a cookery book will all be tackled by staff from award-winning public relations company Approach PR.
Suzanne Johns set the company up a decade ago and to celebrate its birthday the five-strong team will take on a range of tasks to raise money for children’s communications charity I CAN!
And all the challenges will involve the number 10.
Miss Johns has pledged to do ten tough cycle rides, including the Manchester 100k in September and the 174-mile three-day coast-to-coast ride the same month.
Account manager Verity Hudson is completing ten abseils in one weekend, Michael Hodgson will run ten marathons in ten weeks, Vikki McCrindle is creating a family cook book based on ten decades of McCrindle recipes, and Becky Armstrong is swimming 1.0 miles in Windermere.
“Ten years is a real landmark, especially in the current climate, and the whole team has joined forces to celebrate our first decade by undertaking a personal challenge in the real spirit of our chosen charity,” said Miss Johns, who founded the company from her Ilkley home in 2001.
“I CAN! is a children’s charity which focuses on helping youngsters to overcome communications challenges.
“Every year we support a cause that’s close to our hearts and in our tenth year we wanted to give something back to a charity dedicated to improving communication – a skill at the centre of everything we do.”
