Acts are being sought for a variety show in Bradford to raise £1,000 and secure the return to the city of a schools’ dance show.
The Bradford heats of the international dance and silent drama competition Rock Challenge have been held at St George’s Hall for the last ten years by charitable group the Be Your Best Foundation.
But future dance-offs are in doubt because the heats’ biggest sponsor, regional development agency Yorkshire Forward, is being wound up by the Government and has had to withdraw its £5,000 contributions towards the show’s £20,000 costs.
The heats only happened this year after last-minute donations from schools, and new sponsors are desperately sought.
Samuel Collier, stage manager at Bradford Youth Players, based at Little Lane Community Hall, wants to hear from anyone who wishes to take part in a music, dance and drama show.
All proceeds from ticket sales to the show and raffles at the event, at the Alhambra Studios on Thursday, July 7, will go towards Bradford hosting Rock Challenge heats next year.
To take part in the Raising4 RockChallenge show, call Mr Collier on 07964 689176 or e-mail samuelcollier@msn.com.
