Skipton primary school children sang to help victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
The reception and first year children at Water Street Primary School walked and sang their way to Skipton Woods. With the help of parents and friends, the sponsored event raised about £700.
Reception class teacher Lisa Hurst said the hope was to buy just one family-sized tent to send to Japan via The British Red Cross.
But having raised almost £700, the school hopes to be able to fund seven tents.
“It was all the children’s idea and they all feel very proud of themselves,” said Mrs Hurst.
