Police are aiming to hit their target of diverting youngsters from anti-social behaviour by teaching them skills including fishing and archery.
Officers were trained as archery instructors before helping youngsters learn the new skill yesterday at St Martin’s Church in Heaton, Bradford. Police have also been teaching youngsters how to fish and they have been learning cooking to provide a meal for the elderly.
Inspector Tom Horner, of North Bradford Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Providing activities such as these can have a very positive effect.”
Parents are being sought in North Bradford to volunteer at future activity weeks.
