Families took a trip down the canal towpath to visit an exhibition with a difference.
The Kennet, a historic boat moored on the Leeds- Liverpool Canal at Saltaire, has been transformed into a floating exhibition telling the history of the World Heritage Site.
It is part of the village’s first World Heritage Site celebrations and will be moored on the canal at Victoria Road throughout the weekend.
Mike Clarke of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal Society will give a talk about the importance of the waterways and there is an on-board display about World Heritage Sites across the world.
Built in 1947 to carry general cargo, the Kennet later became a maintenance boat, and was converted by British Waterways into an exhibition boat in 1985.
The Leeds and Liverpool Canal Society took over the boat three years ago and run it with their volunteers.
