Dozens of students from Germany spent eight days in Skipton as part of an annual exchange visit.
A total of 45 children and three members of staff from Tassilo Gymnasium, Simbach-am-Inn, visited the area as part of a reciprocal arrangement with Skipton Girls’ High School and Ermysted’s Grammar School.
Local families hosted the party. The trip also included visits to Skipton Castle, Whitby, Bradford, York and Malham, and students joined their partners for lessons and a social gathering at Skipton Rugby Club.
The exchange has been a feature of the two schools’ foreign language programme for almost 30 years and has been supported by the twinning associations of both towns.
