A group representing people opposed to a waste treatment plant on fields has held its first meeting.
About 30 members of the action group gathered at the Punch Bowl pub, in Silsden.
Spokesman Rosemary Jay, of Low House Farm Court, said a petition objecting to Bradford Council’s proposals had now been signed by more than a thousand people.
In February it was revealed that two fields in Silsden had been shortlisted as being suitable for a waste treatment facility. No formal planning application has been submitted.
The campaigners have pledged to try to get nearly every resident of Silsden to sign the petition. People willing to volunteer to collect signatures should e-mail lindsayjay@btinternet.com.
