Accountants went back to school as part of a project to help prepare students for the world of work and beyond.
Staff at PricewaterhouseCoopers visited Immanuel College, Thackley, swapping their BlackBerry phones and laptops for paint brushes and kitchen aprons.
The risk assurance team gave pupils an insight to entrepreneurship, financial planning, interview techniques and a crash course in website design in a scheme organised by Education Bradford’s Education Business Partnership.
Catherine Halliwell, creativity and enterprise adviser at Bradford EBP, said: “This is a great example of how businesses can help prepare young people for the world of work and beyond. The students develop a range of enterprise and employability skills as well as building self-confidence and motivation.”
Bill Henry, a senior partner at PwC, said: “PwC actively supports staff involvement in local community projects. Working with Immanuel College represented a great opportunity for us to work with young people and help them make better life choices.”
Head teacher Jane Tiller said: “It is always great to have visitors in school, as it gives students a different perspective and a new experience. The activities offered students lifelong learning skills.”
