A Bradford businessman is battling to find out the source of a leak which is flooding the cellar of his shop on a daily basis.
Habib Rehman, owner of the Dharkan Boutique in White Abbey Road, said he believes it could be linked to a gas blast which happened in January. But he is struggling to find out who is responsible for the leak.
“Every morning we come in, we have two pumps in our cellar and we are pumping it out all day every day,” said Mr Rehman. “If I don’t pump it out one day, it comes up over the doors, about two feet. Businesses are struggling as it is, someone should help us.”
A Yorkshire Water spokesman said: “We appreciate the customer’s frustration with the water leak in his cellar and would like to reassure him that we have checked any Yorkshire Water pipes we believe could be contributing to this issue and have found no problems.
“While carrying out our investigations we have found a potential problem with a road gully which Bradford Council are in the process of investigating.”
A spokesman for Northern Gas Networks said it did not believe January’s gas blast was connected to the leak, and damage caused to its pipes had been repaired.
