The new Neighbourhood Policing Inspector in North Bradford has revealed his front-line officer numbers are being maintained in the face of budget cuts.
Inspector Tom Horner, who began his career in Manningham and lives in Bradford, has taken the reins as lead officer and is in the process of talking to community leaders and residents about their concerns and issues.
Insp Horner said: “It’s fair to say at the present time the Force is conducting a full review of all operation and support roles and the Chief Constable is quite passionate about keeping officers on the front-line.
“What I am pleased to say is I’m keeping what I have – there’s no plan at all to lose any neighbourhood policing team staff. We are fully staffed at the moment, so it won’t affect, luckily, how the NPT operate.”
Insp Horner said his priorities were to meet the community and partners to learn of the issues in the area, tackling anti-social behaviour commonly associated with the lighter evenings and warmer weather and building relations with younger residents.
