Teenagers have taken to boating as part of a police-backed project to help develop their leadership skills.
Pupils at the MA Girls’ School in Drummond Road, Manningham, also learned about the environment and heritage of the waterways as part of the Dream Achievers Course.
Bradford Safer School Officer PC Fiz Ahmed said: “Not only is this a fantastic way for the girls to develop their confidence, but is also an opportunity for the police to engage with them in a fun setting.”
The course, held at Shipley Wharfe, also gave the teenagers the chance to learn about safety on the water and to plan future events.
Zakiya Hussain,14, said: “This is such an exciting opportunity to be involved in a new experience outside of school.”
