A district nurse has come second in an X Factor-style vote in a national nursing award.
Carol Gill, who is based at Wilsden Health Centre and works for Bradford and Airedale Community Health Services, made the final to find the UK’s best nurse-led innovation for her early warning system for pressure ulcers – a problem which costs the equivalent of 4p in every £1 of NHS budget spend.
The contest was run by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).
