A Bradford sex attacker, who was on the run after fleeing a bail hostel, has been arrested.
Police had warned the public not to approach 20-year-old Scott Sorby after he absconded from the hostel in Bradford Road, Cleckheaton, last Friday morning.
Sorby, formerly of Binns Lane, Lidget Green, was found and arrested by police in Wakefield today following media appeals and returned to prison.
He had been jailed for four and a half years in June 2008 after he was convicted of attempted rape and admitted causing actual bodily harm, following an attack on a lone woman in a portable building when he was 17.
He had been released early on licence but was wanted on recall for breaching his licence by failing to reside at the hostel.
At the time of his conviction he was described by police as a danger to women.
Police are keen to hear from anybody who has information about Sorby’s movements between 8am last Friday, when he was last seen at the hostel, and his arrest yesterday. They should contact West Yorkshire Police on 0845 6060606.
