A Scottish celebration was under way at a Bradford care home today.
Staff and residents at Ashcroft Care Home in Undercliffe were enjoying a haggis lunch to celebrate Robert Burns Day, a celebration of the life and works of the 18th century poet.
Scottish music was being played and a Burns Day raffle was held. Staff dressed down in tartan or blue and white – the colours of the Scottish flag.
Team leader at the care home Nicola Hanson said this was the first year it had held such a big celebration for Robert Burns Day.
She said: “We do a lot of different fundraising events and it is just something fun to get people going. It is a good, interesting day. We get the community together to reminisce about years gone by.”
