A team of British Army bomb disposal specialists have rendered safe 12 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during one operation in Afghanistan. This is the greatest number of IEDs to have been removed on any search so far on the current tour and was the outcome of a high-risk clearance operation in Helmand province. A Royal Engineers search team found the devices. All 12 IEDs were defused by a Royal Logistic Corps Ammunition Technical Officer.
