The Reverend Canon Gordon Dey, vicar of Holme Wood, Bradford, has praised the first visit of a youth club on wheels, complete with snooker table, to Bradford.
The Snooker Bus was making its first visit to West Yorkshire and was supported by PC Craig Regan.
Mr Dey said: “It is a good idea as it is making additional provision for young people on the estate and it also enables the police to relate to some of the youngsters in a different way.
“We are all working to the same end, to enable young people here to have the very best opportunities they can get, so if this brings something fresh to the community and some young people find that a help, then it is all well and good.”
PC Regan said: “This is the first time that the Urban Bus Tour has come to West Yorkshire as it normally operates in South Yorkshire.
“We have worked with the organisers to bring it to Bradford and provide a positive outlet for the young people in the area.
“The snooker table on the bus is always of interest and allows us to strike up a dialogue with the children.”
