What would have been the 75th birthday of singer Roy Orbison will be celebrated at a show in Cleckheaton next month.
Barry Steele takes to the stage accompanied by a five-piece band, performing an upbeat, contemporary slant on Roy Orbison’s legacy.
Barry will take the audience on a musical journey from the early Sun years to the late 1980s when Roy enjoyed a comeback with hits like California Blue, You Got it and I Drove All Night. The show will also feature the sounds of The Travelling Wilburys.
Barry, who has performed as The Big O around the world, will be performing in the second half of the concert, which features a Beatles tribute act in the first half, recreating the time when Roy Orbison toured with the Fab Four.
The show takes place at Cleckheaton Town Hall on Saturday, March 19, at 7.30pm. For tickets, ring (01924) 324501 or (01484) 223200, or book online at kirklees.gov.uk/townhalls.
