Bosses at an electrical company bidding to buy and bulldoze a thriving Bradford pub to make way for a car park have had a dramatic change of heart.
A week after permission was given for Wakefield Road-based Pitts Wilson Electrical to demolish the neighbouring Winston Churchill Inn, the firm’s commercial director David Hooley contacted the Telegraph & Argus to make an announcement.

Hours earlier, the firm told the T&A it did not want to comment on why it was pushing ahead with its plans at the expense of a profit-making pub of 200 years.
A shaken Miss Robinson said: “I’m delighted! My bar staff are very excited.”
