A “depraved and perverted” pub guitarist who filmed a sex act with the 15-year-old pupil he was having an affair with has been jailed for four years.
David Green, 55, had regular sex with the girl during guitar lessons in his bedroom, while his disabled wife was downstairs, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.
He was found out after the teenager’s family became suspicious when her playing did not improve, prosecutor Nicholas Barker said.
Green, formerly of Carrbottom Road, Little Horton, Bradford, pleaded guilty to six offences of sexual activity with a child, making an indecent image of her and possessing four indecent photos of her. He also admitted five offences of downloading other child pornography on to his computer, including one video at the most serious level.
Mr Barker said Green had sex with the girl at least every three days over a six month period. He gave her guitar lessons upstairs while his wife, who is wheelchair-bound with multiple sclerosis, was downstairs at the family home.
Mr Barker said that after two lessons, Green kissed his pupil and began sending her suggestive text messages. She later told the police he was a father figure and she liked him.
Green gave her money and topped up her mobile phone, Mr Barker said.
Green’s son, Timothy, broke into his father’s bedroom and was sickened when he found film footage of he and the girl committing a sex act. Mr Barker said Timothy and his brother, Michael, evicted Green from the house.
He rented a bedsit and continued to see the girl. She told police he played pornographic films while they had sex.
After six months, she ended the relationship and the police were alerted several months later.
Green’s solicitor advocate, Ray Singh, said he bitterly regretted his actions. He was a broken man whose wife was divorcing him. “He has no family left. That is his own fault and he accepts that,” Mr Singh said.
Judge Jonathan Rose branded the child pornography “depraved and disgusting”. He said Green groomed his victim and filmed his depravity with her.
Judge Rose made a Sexual Offences Prevention Order barring him from unsupervised contact with children and he must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
