A Bradford school wants to construct a perimeter fence and close a stretch of public footpath.
Allerton Primary School, in Garforth Street, has submitted a planning application to Bradford Council.
The school, which is graded as outstanding, wants to carry out the scheme on the advice of Ofsted to enable children to be protected during school teaching periods.
The proposal is to install a perimeter fence and enclose the site but include gates within the fence to allow continued community use. The school will also seek a full footpath closure for a path known as Bradford West 256 through the Town and County Planning Act.
