A councillor has condemned a daylight shooting on a quiet residential street where many families live.
Coun Khadim Hussain (Lab, Keighley Central) said he was “thankful” nobody had been killed or injured in the incident in Eel Holme View Street, Keighley, on Wednesday morning.
Detectives were last night still questioning two men who were arrested after shots were fired at a house.
And police are still hunting others who may be connected with the gunfire.
The men in custody, who were arrested late on Wednesday afternoon, are aged 21 and 34. They come from the Devonshire Street area of the town.
Coun Hussain said residents had remained calm.
“But it’s still very worrying that this should happen in broad daylight in a community where there are families,” he said: “Innocent people could have been injured or killed. Thankfully that didn’t happen.
“It is a cause for concern and I’m confident the police investigation will get the culprits.”
Witnesses to the incident or people who have information are urged to contact Airedale and North Bradford CID on 0845 6060606.
