A company planning to build 80-metre high turbines overlooking Chelker Reservoir near Addingham is to analyse the results of a sound monitoring study.
Kelda Water Services – a sister company of Yorkshire Water – has completed a sound study monitoring the likely effects of bigger turbines.
The company says it plans to spend some time analysing the results, before moving its plans any further.
Kelda recently carried out the first of its public consultation exercises on its proposals to replace four ageing 45-metre turbines with three much larger structures.
There has been strong opposition from people living in neighbouring Draughton, although Kelda says most of the feedback at its Addingham consultation session was “positive”.
The company says it is still looking at feedback.
The turbines would power two pumping stations which pump water from the reservoir to the Skipton area and into Wharfedale.
