Around 60 young people learned about the world of engineering in a roadshow at Guiseley School.
Students from three Leeds schools attended the event which is the first of its kind in the area.
They had the chance to talk to representatives from engineering companies, as well as from the army, Bradford College, and Leeds and Bradford Universities.
Technology teacher Andrew Mangham said Guiseley had hosted the event because of its role as a technology college.
A year ago the school began offering an engineering diploma. The two other schools to take part in the event – Ralph Thoresby and David Young – also offer engineering diplomas.
He said the event had been a success and said: "The roadshow was aimed at giving pupils information about what level of qualifications they need to go into engineering.”
